# Create your first project

You register, create an organization, and create your first project in the wizard, which the platform generates with repositories in GitLab.

You create a new project in the web interface, without an editor, terminal, or server. If you already have a folder with code from Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, [Bring in an existing project]({{< relref "import-existing-project" >}}) is the right path.

## Register and sign in

Open [app.application-platform.com/register](https://app.application-platform.com/register) and create your account, with email and password or with a passkey. The same account also applies to GitLab.

As long as you do not belong to an organization, the sidebar mainly shows **Create organization**.

## Create an organization

Every project belongs to an organization, which holds members, billing, servers, and connections; even if you work alone, you need one.

1. Click **Create organization** in the sidebar.
2. Enter a name; the slug suggested from it later appears in addresses and folder names and cannot be changed.
3. Confirm; the platform creates the GitLab group and the infrastructure and shows the progress.

As administrator you can invite other people under **Users**.

## Create a project

Open **Projects** in the sidebar and start the wizard.

First you choose the components, that is app, homepage, backend, or a combination, also with several apps, and for each one the tech stack: Flutter, React Native (Expo), Next.js, native iOS, or native Android for an app, Hugo or Astro for a homepage, NestJS, FastAPI, or Laravel for a backend. The wizard does not offer Django, Vue, or Express today.

Domains, store accounts for the App Store and Play Store, and hosting are optional and can be added later; a single app or backend is enough for a first try. After you confirm, the platform generates the project and shows the status.

## What is now in GitLab

In GitLab, a group with one repository per component has been created, each with a runnable code skeleton, a pipeline, and the configuration for local development, dev, and production, plus `local-configuration` with `AGENTS.md` for editors and AI agents and `gitops-configuration` for dev and production, see [What is GitLab?]({{< relref "what-is-gitlab" >}}).

The links to the repositories are in the project overview of the platform. Error tracking with Sentry is added once you connect a Sentry account under **Connections**.
